Chief of Feyiase located in the Ashanti region and home of the Wisconsin International University College Kumasi Campus, Nana Addae Gyamera I has paid a courtesy call on the Chancellor of the university at its main campus in Accra. The Chief who has been challenged by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s II to improve and enhance quality education within his locality as part of his visit toured the entire university campus located at North Legon before engaging with Deans and Heads of various departments on the Accra Campus.
Receiving Nana Addae Gyamera I was the Chancellor of the university Dr Paul Kofi Fynn, the Vice-Chancellor/President Professor Obeng Mireku and the Registrar of the university Mr Frank Kwame Yeboah.
Nana Gyamerah I who was visibly amazed at the investment at the university also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He added that he has heard so much about Wisconsin university and the efforts it is taking in promoting quality teaching and experiential learning within all aspects of its programmes and that he was visiting to assess things for himself especially the state of the art Nursing skills lab.
He was full of commendation for the Chancellor and Management of the university for their foresight and vision in setting up the State of the art Broadcasting studio and Music Recording Studio, the Nursing skills laboratory, the library, the IT laboratory, the hostel facility and the Law Moot court. Nana Gyamerah I also noted a seeming passion for the work among all workers at the university and applauded the management for instilling some form of enthusiasm in the lecturers and staff of the University saying this was necessary for training the young generation to become useful citizens. He assured he will bring this to the attention of his King Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II with the hope that Wisconsin will be given the needed push to promote quality education in the Ashanti Kingdom and beyond.
President and VC of the University Prof. Obeng Mireku on behalf of the Chancellor and the university expressed his deepest appreciation to Nana Gyamerah I for coming from the Ashanti Region to visit them. He said Wisconsin was in the process of replicating whatever facilities were present in Accra as well in Kumasi.
