Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana) has taken another significant step towards deepening its international partnership with Riphah International University in Pakistan.
As part of this effort, the Chief Operating Officer of WIUC-Ghana, Mr Jacob Fynn, undertook a return visit to Riphah International University in Islamabad to advance discussions on the proposed establishment of a state-of-the-art Dental School in Ghana.
Advancing a Strategic International Partnership
The visit forms part of a strategic collaboration between the two institutions, following a visit by a delegation from Riphah International University to WIUC-Ghana in June 2026.
During the earlier visit, the Riphah delegation held extensive discussions with the Chancellor and Management of WIUC-Ghana on areas of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on developing a world-class dental education facility in Ghana.
Building on these discussions, Mr Fynn engaged with the leadership and key officials of Riphah International University to further explore the proposed partnership and the opportunities it presents for both institutions.
The engagement also forms part of WIUC-Ghana’s broader efforts to leverage international expertise and strategic partnerships to expand its footprint in health education.
Learning from Riphah’s Dental Education Network
As part of his trip, the Chief Operating Officer also travelled to the United Arab Emirates, where he visited another Riphah-affiliated dental facility.
The visit provided an opportunity to gain valuable insights into Riphah’s dental education ecosystem, facilities and approach to professional training. It also enabled WIUC-Ghana to explore international best practices to inform the development of its proposed Dental School in Ghana.
These engagements are expected to support the University’s efforts to establish a modern dental education facility that combines academic instruction, practical training, research and clinical experience.
Strengthening WIUC-Ghana’s Health Education Portfolio
The proposed Dental School is expected to complement WIUC-Ghana’s growing presence in health education and further strengthen its position as an institution committed to providing practical, industry-relevant and internationally bench-marked professional education.
In recent years, the University has continued to invest in health education, with a strong emphasis on practical training, modern learning environments and professional competence.
For WIUC-Ghana, the proposed Dental School goes beyond the introduction of another academic programme. It forms part of the University’s broader vision of becoming a leading provider of health education in Ghana and the West African sub-region while contributing to the development of highly skilled healthcare professionals.
Building to International Standards
As part of his trip, the Chief Operating Officer also travelled to the United Arab Emirates, The leadership of WIUC-Ghana believes that strategic international partnerships, such as the collaboration with Riphah International University, are essential to building institutions that can compete globally while responding effectively to local and regional healthcare needs.
As with its previous international collaborations, WIUC-Ghana remains committed to nurturing its partnership with Riphah International University and ensuring that the proposed Dental School meets international standards in dental education, professional training, research and clinical practice.
If successfully realised, the partnership will mark another important milestone in WIUC-Ghana’s ambition to position itself at the forefront of health education in Ghana and across the West African sub-region.
