Rebecca, the founder, and CEO of the Becks Glaucoma Foundation, Ghana, has been nominated in two categories: Best Health NGO and Best Eye Facility.
Rebecca Amenu’s project, dubbed “Sow a seed, save a child’s sight“ is aimed at creating awareness of glaucoma and providing the needed intervention to vulnerable children in poor and deprived communities who have fallen victim to the menace of glaucoma in order to fully restore their sights.
With a first degree in Business Studies from Wisconsin International University College, Rebecca is an advocate against childhood blindness and draws her inspiration from the alarming increase in the cases of glaucoma globally, particularly the underprivileged and the need to offer the desired assistance to victims, most of whom cannot afford basic treatments.
