The President of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Professor. Obeng Mireku at its 2022 Congregation Ceremony applauded graduates for braving the storm to graduate with flying colors despite the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic over the last two years.
President implored graduates to continue to exhibit resilience and courage as they go out into the real world, assuring nothing can break them.
Professor Obeng Mireku urged graduating undergraduate students to make the transition into postgraduate studies at the School of Research and Graduate Studies especially the MBA where they can take advantage of an ongoing scholarship promotion of a 50% fee reduction.
Speaking on the theme “Role and opportunities for private universities in developing Africa’s future workforce” the president said it was imperative for private universities in Africa, to recognize their role in developing today’s workforce as a unique opportunity to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College Ghana Dr. Paul K. Fynn commended the over one thousand graduates for a hard-fought journey throughout studies over the past 4 years and urged them to remain focused towards their ultimate goals. He admonished students not to wait for the government for employment but instead use their skills and training given by Wisconsin to create jobs on their own.
Graduates were also admonished not to break the umbilical cord and bond created at their time in Wisconsin.
“Go out in the world, knowing that you are carrying the badge of Wisconsin University and that in whatever you do, you are representing each and every one of us here as an ambassador,” he said.
In all 1,061 undergraduate students, 21 Diplomas, and 64 postgraduate students were conferred degrees across various fields including nursing, law, environmental studies, business, ICT, and Economics.

The Valedictorian John Kwabena Debrah in his address encouraged his colleagues to embrace life’s challenges and opportunities as they have been well equipped by WIUC-Ghana.
Students who excelled in various fields were also recognized and rewarded with special awards including the Best accounting student to Emmanuel Olaoluwa Adetunji and the Best Post Graduate award going to William Agoe Okoe.
Present at the congregation ceremony were Professor Ganga Limando –Makombo University of South Africa, Muhammed Buhari Yusuf International Affairs Director from the Sokoto State Scholarship Board, University council members, and representatives from the various affiliate institutions.
