KNUST Vice Chancellor Visits Wisconsin International University College, Ghana

Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson has paid a working visit to the Accra campus of Wisconsin International University College Ghana (WIUC-GH). The visit forms part of measures by KNUST to deepen and improve the partnership with its affiliate institutions.

Wisconsin International University is one of many affiliates of the KNUST which mentors Wisconsin’s law programme. According to Prof. Dickson who arrived in the company of the Registrar of the university and other high-level officers “One way to improve the partnership between the university and its affiliates is to be able to sit and deliberate in person aside the regular letters and correspondence between the two institutions”.

Prof. Rita A. Dickson was full of praise for Wisconsin International University College Ghana for the level of dedication it has exhibited with regard to its cooperation with KNUST and commended WIUC-GH for being a good mentee in churning quality graduates, saying “From where we sit we can say we have enjoyed the journey and whether we like it or not our products are not just for Africa but the entire globe and therefore it is important to put our international lenses on to ensure standards are jealously guarded”.

Prof. Dickson and her team also took time to tour some facilities of the University including the Nursing Skills Laboratory, the law Moot court, the IT laboratory, and the university library. The VC was particularly awestruck with the novelty and innovation in the university library which has been decorated with beautiful plants and flowers.

President of Wisconsin International University College, Professor Obeng Mireku, expressed his management’s delight at the visit by the high-profile delegation from KNUST and was optimistic that the visit will strengthen the already strong ties between the two universities. Prof. Obeng thanked the VC and her team for their stewardship over the years, saying “As mentees, we are grateful to be under your guidance and we always continue to project KNUST when it comes to legal education”.
