Sustainable Development Alliance (SusDA) has worked extensively with junior high schools, senior high schools, and universities across Ghana, placing environmental stewardship at the core of its operations.

Through this partnership, SusDA will support WIUC-Ghana in developing and implementing initiatives that promote environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and climate-conscious research within the institution and beyond.

During her address, the Executive Director of SusDA, Mrs. Mary Tobin Osei, expressed excitement about working with WIUC-Ghana. “Because we are environmentally focused, we are targeting institutions that offer courses in environmental studies. We were thrilled to learn that Wisconsin has a dedicated department for Development and Environmental Studies, and that is why we are here,” she said.

The Executive Director further announced plans to establish an Eco Club at WIUC-Ghana, aimed at empowering students to undertake environmental research, lead sustainability campaigns, and actively contribute to green development initiatives. She assured university leadership that the collaboration would go beyond the signing to achieve tangible impact.

This partnership underscores WIUC-Ghana’s commitment to integrating sustainability into education, research, and community engagement. By working with SusDA, the university strengthens its role in shaping future leaders who will contribute solutions to environmental challenges and support Ghana’s progress toward the SDGs.

SusDA announced as an immediate step, plans to embark on an educational tour with WIUC-Ghana students and staff to the Bunso Eco Park, providing those who will embark on the trip a practical experience of environmental conservation in action.
