Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Tours Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Commends Institution’s Commitment to Practical and Quality Education

The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has paid a working visit to Wisconsin International University College Ghana (WIUC-Ghana), Accra campus, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with private tertiary institutions to advance national development through quality education.

The Minister was received by the University’s founder and Chancellor, and other key management of the university, faculty, and some students. 

As part of the visit, the Hon. Minister was taken on a guided tour of key academic and practical training facilities, including the University Library, the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Laboratories, and the state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory. He also visited the School of Nursing and Midwifery Skills Laboratory, the Law Library and Moot Court, and the School of Communication’s Broadcasting Studio.

One of the highlights of the tour was a demonstration of the University’s advanced virtual Anatomy Table, a modern tool used in medical and nursing training. The Minister commended the University for its investment in practical learning tools that enhance hands-on student training.

In a brief interaction with the management and staff of the university, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu who was obviously elated at the advance IT, Ai, Robotics and cybersecurity equipment at the university noted that the Ministry of Education is currently reviewing the curriculum for pre-tertiary education in line with Ghana’s Digital Education Policy. He revealed that Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and other IT-related programmes will soon be introduced at the formative stages of learning. According to him, this forward-looking approach is designed to ensure that every Ghanaian child is exposed to emerging technologies from an early age, preparing them for the demands of a digital future.

The Minister further lauded Wisconsin International University College, Ghana for its consistent commitment to delivering practical, career-oriented education. He expressed optimism that the University will continue to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to elevate the quality of tertiary education in Ghana.

“On the part of the Ministry and government,” he added, “we will continue to provide the enabling environment for private higher education institutions to thrive and support the state in developing the quality human capital the country needs.”

WIUC-Ghana remains committed to aligning its academic offerings with national development priorities, and to playing a central role in Ghana’s quest to build a robust, technology-driven, and inclusive higher education ecosystem.
