Wisconsin International University College Ghana (WIUC-GH) held its
14 th Graduation Ceremony where it graduated a total of 1,127 students
made up of 1,062 undergraduate students, 15 Diploma and 50 postgraduate
students.
This year’s congregation was celebrated under very strict Covid-19 protocol
and was under the theme “Navigating the Covid-19 Pandemic and Quality
Assurance at WIUC-GH “. This year’s theme was chosen to highlight how the
University had coped with the use of technology in stemming the shocks of
the pandemic.
Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College Ghana Dr. Paul K.
Fynn who officially launched the graduation congratulated students for a
hard fought journey in their studies over the past 4 years and urged
Graduands to eschew too much talk instead concentrate on creating
innovative ideas to get themselves out of unemployment.
The President of Wisconsin International University College Ghana,
Professor. Obeng Mireku in his speech acknowledged how the University had
embraced technology to make the transition to the new way of life seamless
with limited disruptions in between. He said with an increase in need to
move online, the University had to commit resources at various stages to
train all lecturers and students on the use of both blended and simultaneous
approach to teaching and learning. “Another key intervention in our
response to the spread of the pandemic in our University community was
setting up of the Covid-19 Monitoring Committee chaired by the Dean of
Nursing School mandated to regulate and advise management on strategies
to managing the pandemic”.
The Valedictorian Collins Junior Addai in his remarks recounted how the rigor
of academia had taught students integrity, hard work and perseverance.
Mr.Addai encouraged his colleague Graduands to embrace their future with
determination as that was the only way they could see result and progress in
life.
Students who excelled in various fields where also recognized and rewarded
with special awards with the Overall Best Graduating student going to Collins
Junior Addai, a BBS students with a cumulative GPA of 3.87. Other awardees
on the day included Best Accounting student which went to Richard
Twumasi, Best Post Graduate MBA award going to Torsoo Timothy, with Post
Graduate MSc Environmental Sustainability going to Azamesu Grace and
Best MA Adult Education student going to Banibensu Samuel Ashford.

Addae Gyamera II, University council members, Representatives from the
various affiliate institutions, management members, parents of Graduands
among others.
