
The 2025 edition of the Africa Basketball Festival (ABF 2025) recently concluded at the University of Ghana, with Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana) edging out Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) to win the ultimate title.
In a competition featuring teams from Ghana, China, Liberia, the USA, Nigeria, and Lebanon, the match between WIUC-Ghana and GCTU was a special fixture, with WIUC-Ghana winning by 58 points to GCTU’s 44 points.


The Africa Basketball Festival is not only a sporting competition but also a celebration of culture and youth development. In addition to the basketball games, ABF 2025 featured a youth basketball camp aimed at nurturing young talents, as well as music and fashion exhibitions that promoted cultural exchange, creativity, and unity among participating nations.
While Wisconsin International University College, Ghana‘s (WIUC-Ghana) victory over Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) will be remembered as one of the tournament’s defining moments, the successful staging of ABF 2025 reaffirmed the festival’s role as a key platform for international sporting collaboration, youth empowerment, and cultural integration.
