Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana) has held its 23rd matriculation ceremony to officially welcome newly admitted students into the University community.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the University Council, Justice Isaac Duose, Chairman of the University Council, expressed his gratitude to the students for choosing WIUC-Ghana. He encouraged the newly admitted students to remain focused on their studies, emphasising that academic pursuit is the core reason for their presence at the University.

In his address, the President of the University, Dr. Lawrence Kannae, also extended a heartfelt welcome to the fresh students on behalf of Management. He explained that matriculation is a rite of passage that formally admits freshers into the University by taking the Matriculation Oath and signing the register of students.
Dr Kannae announced that a total of 2,183 new students were officially enrolled on both the Accra and Kumasi campuses across seven schools and faculties. The Accra Campus recorded 1,067 females and 382 males, while the Kumasi Campus matriculated 638 females and 96 males. Among the newly admitted students were 18 international students.

“To our international students, I say a special welcome to WIUC-Ghana and to our beautiful country. While you are here, I encourage you to explore the sights and sounds of this culturally rich and diverse nation,” Dr Kannae said.
He further urged students to take an active part in activities marking the University’s upcoming Silver Jubilee Celebration, and to make the best use of the facilities available on campus, including the Cybersecurity and AI Lab, four Skills Laboratories for Nursing and Midwifery students, the Broadcast Studio, a fully equipped Music Studio, and the Neurodiagnostic Centre.

Following the President’s speech, the Registrar administered the Matriculation Oath, after which students were officially declared fully matriculated. Representatives from the various schools and faculties then signed the matriculation book, and the ceremony concluded with the singing of the University anthem.
