Wisconsin International University College, Ghana Holds 22nd Matriculation Ceremony

Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana) held its 22nd
Matriculation Ceremony
for the January 2025 intake. This year’s ceremony was particularly special as it marked the university’s 25th anniversary, celebrating a legacy of academic excellence and student development.

Delivering the matriculation address, Dr. Lawrence Kannae, Vice President of WIUC-Ghana, extended a warm welcome to the newly admitted students on behalf of the university’s management. He emphasized the significance of matriculation as a rite of passage that formally grants freshmen their studentship status.


Dr. Kannae announced that a total of 1,941 students matriculated at the Accra campus,
comprising 1,523 females and 418 males across levels 100 to 300 in seven schools and faculties. At the Kumasi campus, 550 students were admitted, 426 females and 124 males.

Dr. Kannae used the opportunity to introduce some of the state-of-the-art facilities available at the university. These include the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Lab, the four Skills Laboratories for Nursing and Midwifery students, the Broadcast Studio, the fully equipped Music Studio, and the Neurodiagnostic Centre. He urged students to utilize these resources to enhance their learning experiences.

The Registrar of the university, Mr. Joel Idun-Acquah, also addressed the students, expressing gratitude for their choice of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana. He encouraged them to prioritise reading, which is essential to academic success, and to familiarise themselves with the university’s rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook.

The ceremony concluded with student representatives from various schools and faculties signing the matriculation book, followed by the singing of the university anthem.
