Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana), marked a significant milestone as it celebrated 25 years of achievements and growth under the theme “WIUC-Ghana’s Silver Jubilee: Celebrating 25 years of impactful Education” at its main campus in Accra. The event was graced by a host of distinguished personalities, including the Chief of Feyiase, Nana Addae Gyamera I, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu, management, staff and students of the university and many other notable guests.
In his welcome address, Dr. Lawrence Kannae highlighted the purpose of the gathering, acknowledging the institution’s remarkable growth from its inception in 2000 to 2025. He reflected on the university’s expansion, particularly the establishment of the Accra and Kumasi campuses, and emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing practical, quality education. He also revealed the Chancellor’s visionary plans to establish state-of-the-art medical and engineering schools to further enhance the university’s academic offerings.

The Chancellor and Founder of WIUC-Ghana, Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn, expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, his family, the management team, and the wider community for their unwavering support over the years. He reflected on the university’s journey, noting the significant strides made in infrastructure, academic programs, and community impact. Dr. Fynn reiterated his commitment to the continuous growth of the university, with plans to introduce more innovative programs to meet the evolving demands of the global job market.
The official launch of the 25th Anniversary was done by Nana Addae Gyamera I, who used the occasion to commend Dr. Fynn for his vision, selflessness, and dedication to societal development. He acknowledged the Chancellor’s philanthropic contributions through the CSR arm of the university called the Dada Foundation, which has provided over 100 boreholes, 10 modern washroom facilities, and numerous scholarships to various communities across the country. Nana Gyamera I encouraged the Chancellor to continue his remarkable work, emphasizing the positive impact of such initiatives on society.
The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu, also addressed the gathering, lauding WIUC-Ghana for its immense contribution to higher education and national development. She praised the university’s role in training and nurturing individuals who have excelled locally and internationally. “Through resilience, vision, and hard work, WIUC-Ghana has remained steadfast in its mission to develop world-class human resources equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to address national and global challenges,” she noted. She encouraged the institution to sustain its high standards and make the next 25 years even more impactful and fulfilling.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural performance, symbolizing the university’s rich and diverse community. As WIUC-Ghana embarks on its next chapter, it remains committed to its vision of providing quality, industry-relevant education and contributing meaningfully to the development of Ghana and beyond.
