The International Alumni Association from the University of Bielefeld, Germany, recently visited Wisconsin International University College (WIUC), Ghana, as part of a collaborative engagement aimed at fostering academic partnerships and cross-cultural exchanges. The visit was highlighted by a conference that brought together alumni members and representatives of WIUC to discuss potential areas of cooperation and mutual support between the two institutions.
Following the conference, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Justice Isaac Duose, the Board Chair of the University Council. The meeting, held in a spirit of friendship and collaboration, also included Mr. Joel Idun Acquah, the Registrar, and Dr. Bright Mawudor, the Dean of the Wisconsin Business School.
Discussions during the meeting centered on deepening the ties between WIUC and the University of Bielefeld, focusing on areas such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and academic networking opportunities.
As part of their visit, the alumni had the opportunity to tour WIUC’s campus, gaining insight into the university’s commitment to hands-on learning and state-of-the-art facilities. A highlight of the tour was the visit to the Nursing Skills Laboratories, where the delegation was particularly impressed by the advanced High-fidelity mannequins used for training nursing students. These mannequins provide a simulated environment for students to practice and perfect their clinical skills, reflecting WIUC’s emphasis on practical and experiential learning.
The visit by the International Alumni Association of Bielefeld represents a significant step toward building a strong, long-term relationship between WIUC and the University of Bielefeld. Both parties expressed optimism about the potential for future collaboration, including the possibility of exchange programs, joint academic conferences, and shared projects that would benefit students and faculty from both institutions. WIUC looks forward to further opportunities to collaborate with international partners, reinforcing its commitment to providing a globally relevant education.
