On the 4th of December 2024, the Executive Director of BOOKS FOR AFRICA,
Dr. Patrick Plonski, and USAID Officers, Mr. Prince Boateng and Ms. Keme Orgi visited the Wisconsin International University College, Ghana and had the opportunity to tour the campus.
The Vice-President, Dr Lawrance Kannae, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Jacob Fynn and the Director of International Relations, Mr Ebenezer Amuasi welcomed and interacted with our guests during the detailed tour demonstrating every facility in the various departments.
Hon. Augustine Tawiah the MP for BIA WEST Constituency, Western North Region was the link between BOOKS FOR AFRICA, USA and Wisconsin International University College, Ghana.
Dr. Lawrance Kannae recognized his efforts and showed gratitude for his efforts.
BOOKS FOR AFRICA, USA generously donated several boxes full of Nursing and Midwifery books in July 2024. The timing of the arrival of these books could not be echoed loud enough as the University College had just introduced new programs in master’s and Ph.D. in Nursing and Midwifery (MSc. Nursing, MPhil Nursing and MPhil Midwifery).
Dr Patrick Plonski was pleased to interact with the Librarian, Mrs Comfort Asare, who confirmed that the books received have been tremendously helpful in augmenting the library’s collection.
The tour also enabled the team to interact with staff and students, view all the books they had donated in the library, the facilities from the Nursing Skills Laboratory, the Neurodiagnostic Laboratory, the Cybersecurity and AI Laboratory, the Moot Court, the Broadcasting Studio and the Recording Studio.
A plaque was presented to BOOKS FOR AFRICA, USA, in appreciation of their generous contribution and invaluable donation of books to Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, at both the Accra and Kumasi Campus. Dr. Plonski donated the Merck Manual, 20th Edition, to the University College. This book is an encyclopedia of all medical diagnoses and therapies known to man in the 20th century.
