Wisconsin International University College Ghana has received over ninety boxes of medical and nursing books from Books For Africa.
The books were received by the Chief Operations Officer, the Librarian, the Head of the Department at the Wisconsin School of Nursing, and nursing students.
Receiving the books on behalf of the university, the Chief Operating Officer of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Mr Jacob Fynn expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Books For Africa for their generosity, emphasizing the invaluable contribution these books will make to the students’ education.
The COO also extended his appreciation and special thanks to Mr Luis Brownstone for facilitating the donation and to Book Trust for their support in shipping the books to Ghana.
Also present during the presentation was the university librarian Madam Comfort Asare, who used the opportunity to highlight the importance of the medical and nursing books which she says will enhance research, particularly with the introduction of new academic programs like the MSc. and MPhil. in Nursing and Midwifery at Wisconsin International University College, Ghana.
The Head of the department ( School of Nursing and Midwifery ) Dr Abukari Alhassan Sibdow who was also present during the presentation shared how timely and beneficial the arrival of these books is for the university.
A citation of appreciation was presented to Books for Africa, acknowledging their ongoing mission to end the book famine in Africa by collecting, sorting, and distributing books and educational resources across the continent.
Since 1988, Books For Africa has delivered over 56 million books to all 55 African countries, making a profound impact on education and knowledge dissemination.
