LAUNCH OF WISCONSIN-GH ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB

The Wisconsin International University College- Ghana Business School in association with the Ministry of Business Development has launched the Wisconsin International University College, Ghana Entrepreneurship Club. 

The launch which took place on the premises of the university brought together officials from the ministry, lecturers and students from all schools under the university. 

The club which is meant to drive entrepreneurial spirit and capacities of students while they are still in school would pitch the Wisconsin International University against other prominent universities in Ghana such as the University of Ghana, KNUST and UPSA for the ultimate prize. 

In a brief address, a representative of the Ministry of Business Development Mrs. Irene Safori expalined that the club will open countless prospects and opportunities to students who are keen. “ The ministry and its implementing agencies will offer incubation, mentoring and coaching and advisory services to members of the club,” she said, adding that “the ministry will provide funding to students with bright and practicable business ideas. There will also be a stiff competition among the entrepreneurship clubs of various universities to win coveted prizes”. She consequently implored students to take advantage of the learning opportunities that the club will offer. 

In his remarks, the Registrar of WIUC Mr. Frank Yeboah who chaired the ceremony expressed confidence in the prospects of the club and the ability of Wisconsin university to win the ultimate, stating that Wisconsin International university always comes tops in such Business Challenge, recounting the University’s splendid performance in last year’s National Business Challenge, where Wisconsin beat University of Ghana and other prominent universities to emerge 2nd. The Registrar also assured that management of the university will offer the best support it can for the club to flourish and make the desired impact.

On his part, the Dean of WIUC Business School Dr. Mamadou Diedhiou stated that his team of coordinators will ensure the club thrives. He also stated that the WIUC Business School has a track record of knocking out giant schools in national competitions. He therefore believes the new Club will leverage on this rich history and triumph in all national competitions.

The WIUC Entrepreneurship Club is open to all students studying in the university irrespective of their course and nationality.
