Wisconsin has emerged among the top three at the HR Focus Inter-Schools Business Challenge. Pentecost University College emerged the winner, with UPSA in second place and University of Ghana Business School placed fourth.

The finals of the Challenge, held on 12th October 2017 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra, was aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation, networking and creative problem-solving among university students.

The competing teams were given different scenarios for which they needed to identify solutions through innovative thinking.

Judging criteria included teamwork, creativity, presentation, feasibility of their idea and acceptability of their solution.

This year’s competition was fiercer and more exciting, drawing contestants from Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-Ghana), Pentecost University College, Accra Institute of Technology, Radford University College, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Presbyterian University College and University of Professional Studies (UPSA).

Winners of last year’s challenge, UPSA, automatically booked a place at this year’s finals. WUC-Ghana and UGBS each topped their group, making it to the finals. Pentecost University College was selected as a result of a wild card decision by the judges.

The following students represented WIUC-Ghana:

  • Arisa Munachim - BBS Human Resource Management (Level 300 Upper)

  • Princess Renice Anni - BA Communication Studies (Level 300 Upper)

  • Olubowale Olutobi - BBS Human Resource Management (Level 300 Upper)

  • Oyesile Oluwagbenga - BBS Banking and Finance (Level 300 Upper)
