WISCONSIN-GH HERALD 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COLOURFUL LAUNCH

Wisconsin international university college heralded its 20th anniversary launch with a colourful launch at its Accra campus. The event under the theme “Impacting Development in Ghana and Beyond, The Role of Wisconsin over the past two decades” was attended by both staff and students also saw some members of the Alumni Association present to express their delight and appreciation to management pf the University for What the University Has Made of them. 

Speaking on the theme, the President of the University Professor. Obeng Mireku in his speech highlighted the achievements of the university over the last two decades and its immense impact in Ghana and beyond. He mentioned that Wisconsin had become a popular brand in Africa owing to the quality of graduates churned out every year who he added are contributing to the growth and economy of their respective countries. The President reiterated management’s commitment to continuously improve on practical learning facilities at Wisconsin to continue to make its graduates competitive. Prof. Mireku revealed that over the past two decades Wisconsin has graduated over 10,000 students who are excelling in their various fields across Africa.

Registrar of the University Mr. Frank k. Yeboah in his address highlighted the growth of the university in the last two decades both in terms of student numbers and infrastructure. “The University has expanded considerably in physical infrastructure, it started with the Academic Block now we have Block A, B, C and D”.  He further added that the university’s Kumasi campus has come on board to augment the efforts of the Accra campus in anticipation of the expect increase in enrollment as a result of the Free SHS program.

Other dignitaries present included the Chairman of the University Council, the Chief Operating Officer and a representative of the Alumni Association who took turns to address the audience and encouraged students to take full advantage of quality education infrastructure at Wisconsin in order to better themselves and contribute to the growth of the country.

Other activities lined up as part of the yearlong anniversary celebration includes a Health Walk, Alumni Family Day out, series of Public lecture, Face of Wisconsin pageant, Dinner Dance and a Thanksgiving Service.
