Wisconsin students, led by the Nigerian Students’ Association, have paid a visit to the Christ Faith Foster Home in Adenta, on the outskirts of Accra. They played with the children and young people there and donated foodstuffs, drinks, water, toiletries and clothes to the home. Their donation came at just the right time as the area was experiencing severe water shortages.

Christ Faith Foster Home looks after 40 children and young people aged between two and a half to 22 years.

The visit was an initiative of Wisconsin NSA’s Women's Commission.

NSA president Blessing Ekanem said: “The purpose of the visit was to touch the lives of the less privileged in the little way that we can. The greatest joy I derived from that day was seeing the smiles on the children's faces.

“In the course of our visit something very touching happened. One of the children was asked where he would fly to if he was given a ticket to fly on a plane, and he answered ‘I would want to fly to see my Dad and Mum’.

“I encourage everyone to please make time once in a while to go to places like these to rekindle the joy in the hearts of these children.”
